HOWTO: Kom igång med 1-wire loggning på din Dockstar

Aloha,

Jag har skrivit en kort How To hur jag gjorde för att komma igång med loggningen av 1-wire på min Dockstar med hjälp av RRDTool.

Då jag inte är någon expert på området får ni ta det hela med en rejäl nypa salt och gärna komma med kommentarer och synpunkter.

Ett tips är att skriva till det interna flashminnet så lite som möjligt. Alla flashminnen har en begränsat livslängd och det är svårt att byta minnet i Dockstaren.

Jag skulle ansluta ett USB-minne (som mountas vid start) och ändra sökvägen till databasen dit. Även graferna bör skrivas till USB-minnet. (och ex länkas in i www med en symbolisk länk (ln -s).

"Alla" flashminnen har idag någon form wear leveling som sprider skrivningarna så jämnt det går för att minimera slitaget på minnet. Ett USB-minne på ett par gigabyte kommer att hålla många år som lagringsutrymme för grafer och databas. Minnet i dockstaren håller inte lika länge.

Krångligt, inte alls! mounta USB-minne och ange sökvägen dit för grafer och databas!

Japp jag har också tänkt på det det.
Jag mountade ett USB minne och provade att skriva filer till det och det gick bra, men när jag skulle prova igen fick jag det inte att fungera. Jag ska prova mer ikväll.

Kan du beskriva hur man gör så att USB minnet mountas vid start och även hur man använder sig av symboliska länkar?

Ops, jag har inte grejjat med openwrt på ett par versioner, så exakt hur man gör har jag glömt bort.

Jag har problem med att mounta ett minne (http://www.temperatur.nu/forum/linux/hj ... t1608.html), men att det gick tidigare är jag 100% säker på då jag har filer på usbminnet som jag skapade med nano på dockan.

Huskii: kan du prova med

och se vad som händer?

När man väl får den att mounta är det nog bara att lägga till det i /etc/rc.local

Loranga: unmountade du minnet före du tog ut det? Om du nu har tagit ut det vill säga, kan kanske vara så att du "avbröt" en skrivning till minnet?

Det kan jag ha glömt men jag har provat med flera olika minnen som jag dessutom formaterat med FAT32

Du kan ha låst upp den usb.porten. Har du fler portar du kan prova i och har du startat om maskinen?

Jag har provat att byta portarna och startat om ett antal gånger utan reultat.

Vad hamnar i loggen när du kör
mount /dev/sda1 /mnt//usb

(/mnt/usb skall bytas ut mot den katalog där du vill mounta minnet)
